Highlights & Lavender

These are our trail names. We are two adventurous people who have done some long distance hiking. We’ll tell you about our experiences on the PCT, the TA and the Hexatrek.

We’ve also longboarded across Switzerland and cycled more than 10,000km across Europe in bikepacking style.

About us

How did we come up with our trail names?

We’ll tell you a bit about us.

Highlights

I got this trail name on the PCT because every evening I asked people what their highlight of the day had been. These conversations brought us together and allowed us to share the good moments of the day.

My real name is M. But online we prefer our trail names.
I’m not quite 40 yet and definitely feel younger :) I really like to tickle my husband, it keeps me young.

Lavender

I also got my trail name on the PCT. Highlights‘ host grandmother gave me a lavender sachet. It was supposed to make my clothes smell nice and the scent was with me all the way.

My off-trail name is A. I work in a creative field. I’m just over the 40 mark. But I feel like I’m somewhere between 20-30, and I’ve still got a lot of fluff in my head.

A few questions & answers

Only the most important things. Short and sweet.

We are older than we look. However, we definitely feel younger than we are :)

We have received a very small sponsorship.
Our windscreen and burner are from Vesuv.

That’s just a number. We tend to travel light. But we don’t compromise on safety. And there’s still room for a luxury item.

So on the Hexatrek, Lavender’s base weight was 6.2 kg (with the heavy tent).

We ride with Canyon. We like the Grizl CF SL8. The best gear ratio for us is 1×12 or 1×13.

The bags are from Cyclite.

We’re really into Rocket Longboards.
